A Little Bit Of Time...

I know that my timing
May be unorthodox,
But I've never really been known
To follow calendars or clocks.

To me, this holiday for love
Is just a greeting card company day,
And I don't need a box of chocolates
Or a fancy rose bouquet.

You really should be wise to the fact
I've been rather distraught
And I know it can't be healthy
To stay so overwrought.

I really hate to leave you now,
But what I need is time away;
I don't know quite how long I'll be
Perhaps I only need a day.

If you leave the keys out for me
So I might still open your heart,
Maybe I'll feel better
After a little time apart.
