Completely agree with "Shameonflowgo" about posting a tribute for the 9/11 victims on a joke site. There's no joke here. There's nothing remotely funny about what happened seven years ago today. The tragedy this nation suffered on 9/11/2001 should not be trivialized with bad poetry and cheesy music. The poem (I use that word loosely) isn't even so much of a tribute as it is a political statement ("...nothing is settled, No peace to be found. Seems like the efforts, Made to this date, Cannot resolve, Our grief and our fate. [resolve our fate? What does that mean?] There are still questions there, With no answers yet found..."), and it's a poorly written political statement at that. You don't mourn or honor those who lost their lives in a tragedy by complaining about what the government is or isn't doing. McCain and Obama put aside their differences today to simply remember and honor those who died. The rest of us should do the same. Flowgo, think twice next time!
A joke site is not the best place to memorialize 9/11. This tacky trite and badly written poetry is really unkind to those of us who were personally affected by 9/11 as was most of this country. Embarrassing this site should try to do this, when a better use of its space would be to put one single image. The multiple "cards" are really awful. I am in shock as how tacky this site is - chain letters or no.
Comment to shameonflowgo, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the poem that was written. As you stated, the people affected were not only the victims, we were all victms, jokesters included (while flapping your jaws you stated "This tacky trite and badly written poetry is really unkind to those of us who were personally affected by 9/11 as was most of this country") Which you state that most of this country was affected. So what is your problem with anybody making a poem, well written or not, to honor the victims and our nation? I think you must have been bored, and had a bad day or something, because there is nothing wrong, or disrespectful with honoring this date. Most of this country was affected and too many people have forgotten already, so by all means, if it is a joke website with "tacky trite and badly written poetry" that wants to show respect and honor, let em do it! If you find it unkind, I truly feel sorry for you
So sad...I still remember posting up prayful pictures in class we had drawn...(Australia)
