The Athlete's Prayer

The Summer Games have now begun,
And Lord, to you we pray,
To keep the athletes safe from harm
As they compete in the events each day.

Please protect each one from injury
As victory they strive to gain
And if they somehow do get hurt,
Please deliver them from pain.

They've worked so hard to come this far,
And we truly do believe,
With You standing close and watching on
There's no end to what they'll achieve.

Though there is much rivalry,
Each team strives to be the best,
No matter who the winners will be,
We pray that all the teams be blessed.
